Made New

Last week I went on my first vacation in many years and I saw much of God’s wonderful creation over the course of 6 days. We drove from New Mexico, to Utah, to Wyoming, to Denver, and back home. Have you ever seen the Grand Teton or been to Yellowstone National Park? If not, I recommend both. What beauty!

Not only did we see God’s majesty splayed out before us, but we saw His imagination in several different animals as well. I think my favorite forest animal was the bear with her cub. They were both playing together on top of a cliff as we drove by them. I wish there had been a place to pull over so that I could take a picture or video. Thankfully, I have a memory of them to hold on to.

Have you ever wondered what the United States looked like 2000 years ago? Were the mountains as majestic as they are today? Were the lakes fuller? How about the animals? Were they as playful as they are now? I’ve wondered these things, but I can honestly tell you that it doesn’t much matter because today they are the grandeur of the LORD’s glory ten times over!

What were you like in your past life? You don’t have to answer that out loud, I just want you to think about it. When I look back on the old woman I used to be, I think about sadness, hatred, and lots of drama. Sad, right? I used to think so, but, If I hadn’t gone through all of that, would I be the person I am today? Probably not.

Yesterday I was watching a faith-based movie and thinking about what I’d right for this blog post, and God said to me, “look how far you’ve come, Joleen.” From the day I turned to the LORD, to all of the times I backslid to today, I have gradually gone from drinking milk to eating solid food. My prayers are better than they were 10 years ago, and I am 100% happier and more peaceful than ever!

Now that you’re looking back on your life, is there really anything you’d change about your past? I hope not, because you are who you are today because of Him. If you are born again, you are a new creation. You can clearly see the likeness of God in you because you have His Spirit who dwells in you. You are blessed beyond measure and I truly hope that you praise Him for that.

If you haven’t given your life to God yet, I pray that you take the step of faith today. All you need to do say the following prayer: LORD, I know that I’m a sinner and I know I can’t live fully without you. I ask for You to forgive me of my sins and cleanse me of all unrighteousness. I accept Jesus Christ as my LORD and Savior and I pray for Your Spirit to dwell in me forever. I ask this in Jesus Name. Amen!

If you prayed that prayer today, we welcome you to the family and want to let you know that we’re here to help get you started with reading the Bible. If you’d like help with next steps, please send us a message today using the Contact Us form. Blessings to you forever, friend!
